Fantastic Fogerty..
A great Celtic Thunder concert experience was had by my girlfriends and I at the Venetian Theater in Las Vegas over the weekend. His band is skilled and engaging, with his son Shane, who played with him several years ago at the Nokia Theater as a teen, being a standout. Watching them play together and off each other was a treat. Smaller than many theaters, the Venetian Theater is a great venue for a concert, with no bad seats from what we could observe. I have seen Celtic Thunder a few times over the years and never been disappointed. Saturday evenings gig was no exception. A huge perk of being at a Celtic Thunder concert is his superb drummer, Kenny Aronoff, a rock star among drummers. The man is so good and brings so much energy with him you'd have to be in a coma not to notice him. To list his accomplishments would take up several pages. He smiles throughout the performance, (actually, the whole band does,) and just appears to love what he is doing. Celtic Thunder was in fine voice, skimped on nothing, and did his many crowd pleasing songs full justice. Energetic is an apt word for the whole concert. The audience adored him. He shared background on some songs and told a few amusing stories. With the exception of three possibly deceased young women in front of me, the crowd was on it's collective feet dancing and singing along the entire concert. The man is a national treasure! He announced a return to the Venetian in September for several more concerts. It's already on my calendar.
